"Expressionist mind set"

I've been an artist since the day I could pick up a pencil. I grew up with three sisters & no brothers so you can imagine how bad I needed an escape, so I picked up a pencil or crayon or what ever I could get my hands on & began practicing & perfecting what would later become my life Long passion. Even though I had been creating art for about eleven years by the time I was a senior in high school, I still had never picked up a paint brush. So after a little persuading by my painting & drawing teacher at Oak Grove High School I starting experimenting with colors using water colors, acrylic paints, & pastels. Finally I moved on to the one that stuck, oil painting, & have been creating big oil paintings ever since & have never looked back.
My expressionism has progressed alot in the past eight years with alot of hard work & experimentation, but I wouldn't be any where without the influence of great painters from the past, my favorite in particular, Egon Schiele. He was considered to be one of the very first expressionism artists. So with the help of great creators from the past & some other influences such as the great organization called Pacific Art Collective who gave me the strange & wonderful experience of painting live, I am now the artist, Joe Barajas & hope to one day become the famous Joe Barajas.
So that's me in a nut shell, well the artist side anyway. Trust me when I say, as long as I have the opportunity I will continue to improve & become everything I ever wanted in the way of art ever since I was a kid.
